The flood warning for the River Wharfe at Burnsall remains in force. River levels have been dropping in the upper catchments, but are now rising due to local rainfall. Levels are not expected to rise much further or reach yesterday’s levels. We are not expecting large amounts of rainfall through today and expect to remove the flood warning later on. Flooding remains possible at Properties by Burnsall Green and Burnsall Bridge, including The Red Lion pub and holiday homes on the river bank. Further rainfall is forecast overnight and is expected to keep river levels high. Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated later today, or as the situation changes.

Flooding is expected at Properties by Burnsall Green and Burnsall Bridge, including The Red Lion pub and holiday homes on the river bank from 06:00 AM on 20/02/2022. Further heavy rainfall is forecast this morning. Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and land in Burnsall is expected today, Friday 21st May. Areas most at risk are properties by Burnsall Green and Burnsall Bridge, including The Red Lion pub and holiday homes on the river bank. The River Wharfe at Netherside Hall is expected to remain high throughout today. Please activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers, and stay away from fast moving water. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and land in Burnsall is expected imminently, in the early hours of Monday 2nd November. Areas most at risk are properties by Burnsall Green and Burnsall Bridge, including The Red Lion pub and holiday homes on the river bank. The River Wharfe at Netherside Hall is currently expected to peak at 3.8m at around 2am.
